I have known for some time now that my own chronic fatigue illness has been in some way linkled to autism. My trigger was after I had 3 Hepatitis B vaccines in 1990. My own sister aged 34 has Downs Syndrome and recently diagnosed autism. Glaxo have even admitted over the phone to my GP practice nurse that the thiomersal in these vaccines would have been enough to sensitise me! I have had no choice but to do much of my own research and have found many links with my own maternal family history including hypothyroidism and iodine deficiency. I write as the mother of a son with autism, induced by vaccine damage (not MMR) and as a graduate in Biochemistry and Physiology. I had already decided before the research was published that there would be no more vaccines for my family, but my heart breaks at the thought of all the children still being damaged by the vaccines, and the lifelong devastation they and their families will face. Having seen presentations of the research on more than one occasion, and had the opportunity to speak to Andrew Wakefiled on a 1:1 basis afterwards, I trust my judgement of Dr Wakefield et al's research and integrity. With a few exceptions, I have not found the same level of integrity from most of the personnel in the NHS that we have encountered during our attempts to get help for our son, most of whom do not listen to parents, and treat them as idiots. I have read the research and information put out by Government to refute Andrew Wakefield et al's findings, and found it so unconvincing that it can only be seen as propoganda dressed up as research. Andy, sooner or later truth will out, but we are so sorry that you and your colleagues and families have been persecuted in such a disgraceful way in the meantime. The fact that some of the group have recanted their support for the research merely confirms to me that they have understandably put their careers and families before patients. I do not condemn them for that but despair at the regime in which we appear to be living which requires them to recant or suffer the consequences. We fully support the good work you are doing however my son did not develop autism but diabetes type 1 at the age of just four in 1989. He received the MMR plus DPT plus polio on the same day, seven viruses all together. We have never been able to get anywhere with his case but it most definitely caused it. Too many children's lives have been ended prematurely by a plaque of iatrogenic, immunologic, neuro-behavioral disorders. Bothe personally and professionally, I have come across enough research, evidence and stories to feel that Andrew Wakefield has been the subject of political, financial and medical abuse and silencing. I feel pessimistic about what he has to say being heard at eh right levels but I offer my support none the less. May he walk free.

by the time my children were born 35 yrs ago, i had already developed a healthy skeptism about pharmaceutical drugs and vaccines. but my knowledge base was admittedly thin. as a consequence i allowed my children to receive the then current vaccine schedule, although not as early as the md's would have liked. today, i feel so fortunate that my son survived that process. when he was about 2 he began this high pitched squealing for no apparent reason. it was ear splitting and nothing we did would help abate it. the fortunate part of this is that both my children were breast fed, i was taking some natural vitamin supplements, began the children on vit c, b complex and a & d, and made organic yogurt and whole grain bread weekly. i truly believe these health practices saved my son's life. it took about 2+ yrs for him to 'outgrow' that horrible squealing. today, he is an adult but i still worry about auto-immune deficiency diseases that may begin to surface as he heads into his mid-years. my daughter has had learning difficulties as in mild dyslexia which was never diagnosed by the school authorities who just thought she was 'borderline intelligent' and i was too stupid to accept their evaluation. today my daughter has her masters degree, designs and runs programs for 'difficult' teenagers. my heart goes out to all those parents who have had to watch their children slip away and then try to pick up the pieces of their lives while learning to deal with their child's particular needs. people like andrew wakefield are very valuable to the world of children. his research begins to open the door to meaningful understanding of the effects of vaccines on the developing child. it begins to point to the simplest of solutions--that is, if children's health and development are the paramount concern of health science. however, the courts are presented with a complicated set of arguments against dr. wakefield and his work. these arguments attack him as a heretic and seek to burn him at the stake in the hope of terrorizing others from trying to perform meaningful research into this galloping epidemic. in the middle ages approximately 3 million people in europe were tortured to death. it was a time of massive consolidation of wealth and power and the catholic church was spearheading its inquisition. amongst other goals, it was seeking to control all public thought in the form of learning and science and philosophy. it was another era of 'my way or the highway,' and death was the only alternative to total support. the andrew wakefield trial is a current example of this same historic effort. he is being set up to be an example to anyone else who dares to question differently. however, as with the inquisition, today's witch hunts will lose the battle as people continually demand real answers and claim the human right to decide for themselves what form of health and healing they wish to use for their children. the interests of the pharmaceutical companies do not equate with the rights of human beings. corporations cannot be used as the mask for greed to hide behind

Dear Andrew, I am the parent of 2 sons one is 9ys had MMR has autism,complex learning difficulties, and has had bowel problems since he was a toddler,Christopher has behaviour problems and his behaviour is often unsettled, however Paedeatric gatroentologist in Glasgow has refused to see Christopher, alhtough we and school have said his behaviour is linked to his bowels,paedeatrician has said it is one of those things!!! Dear Andrew, The truth will always out. Our son Matthew was your 50th child and you were the only one who could explain why he regressed after the MMR. Our thoughts and hopes are with you as you mount your defence. My view is that the governments argument is logically flawed. Lack of evidence to support one hypothesis does not automatically support the null hypothesis. Therefore the government cannot prove that MMR is safe. As a chartered safety engineer I sometimes have to be an expert witness and what I would want to see is the pharmaceuticals companies safety case(s) for the vaccine. The HSE's published guidelines for Reducing Risk & Protecting People (R2P2)provides guidance of conduct of risk evaluation and targets to meet. Hello Dr Wakefield,my daughter Maria is a 19yr old beautiful girl,stunning in fact, but she has to live with the daily task of four injections and eating gluten free food, hypos and hypers,urine infections, she is diabetic and has coeliac disease,and some kind of disorder not diagnosed were she cannot keep still and relax, One of my close friends daughter is also beautiful and she has thyroid disease,lupus and coeliac disease,we both went along to the same church baby clinic and could not get our daughters vaccinated fast enough with the then new m.m.r. triple vaccine,both girls went downhill fast after the first jab but of course we still carried on getting them vaccinated not knowing about such link with the m.m.r. it all fits in to place now every time they got a jab they got steadily worse with their health, both girls have thyroid disease parents.I have actually got my daughters medical records sorted in date order to show her health and its decline after these vaccinations, if needed she would release a copy for your research, I believe in your findings 100% and nobody will convince me otherwise, I hope you get justice for yourself in court and are still able to carry on with your research and prove this government wrong and stop them pulling wool over parent eyes,best regards mrs valerie earl. mother of Maria.

Hi from the Speyer family. We lived in Singapore when William was given the MMR at 14 months. We have documentary evidence from his monthly visit to the paeditician that up to the point he was a normal child. After the MMR he developed serious bowel issues and regressive autism set in. Andrew Wakefield and his colleagues provided us all with the evidence of our own eyes. He should be given awards and money to fund greater research. I am the Mother of 4 beautiful children - 2 of whom have Autism as a result of Immunisation Damage! At 9 months of age, Levi was walking, running, climbing stairs without holding on, etc... He was truely amazing! At age 18 months, Levi had his Scheduled Immunisations, and within hours, was having a Grand Mal Siezure! He has never been the same since! Levi has been talking of suicide since the age of 4, as he is so unhappy with himself! My Family's life has been turned upside down! I have absolutely NO doubt that Immunisations cause Autism, and am appaulled that any Government would try to silence these facts! I don't have an autistic child but thanks to you and your tireless work and this Governments refusal to investigate your findings i have refused to allow my twins to have the MMR jab. I don't have any vaccine damaged children but as a Private Eye reader (and science graduate) I have followed this debate with interest. That said I do have a friend who has a severely autistic boy whose condition has never been explained. I wish to thank you for highlighting your concerns over the MMR vaccine to the DoH. The way you have been treated by the DoH, GMC (and media) is a disgrace. I fear greatly for the generation of damaged children and also for science itself, the impartiality of which has clearly been corrupted by government and corporate interests. Your story reminds me very much of Ibsen's 'An enemy of the People', which I recommend you read or go and see if you haven't already done so. You have put the interests of you patients first, and as such deserve praise and respect, not persecution. I don't have children and I don't know anybody with the desease well enough to put names down. But I have suffered enough myself from the medical and pharmaceutical establishment (and I know enough about drugs used in our everyday life) to fully support Dr Wakefield's scientific approach to the 'secondary' effects of the MMR jab. Freedom should be No 1 priority in research, especially medicine. And parents' freedom in the treatment they want for their children should also be strongly advocated.

I don't know personally any children affected by this but do support the avoidance of MMR vaccination until there is evidence that there is no causal link between increased levels of autism as well as gastro- intestinal problems following MMR vaccination. I think the potential risk cannot be ignored and am disgusted that only parents with cash can avoid MMR.

I don't understand the blind faith the masses have in the pharmaceutical companies. They live by god profit and not for the good of humanity.

I have three beautiful children none are Austic. However all three of them had severe reactions to each and every injection and after the first they never were the happy babies they once were. My grandson (son of Natasha) has not had the MMR due to concerns raised by Dr. Andrew Wakefield. He developed an adverse reaction following previous childhood vaccinations and was admitted to Great Ormond Street Hospital having been be resuscitated several times. He is a happy, healthy child.

My name is Meryl Dorey and I am the President of the Australian Vaccination Network (AVN) and Editor of Informed Voice magazine. I started this organisation and magazine because my son Matthew was injured by his vaccines in 1989 and 1990. My son developped meningitis in response to a whooping cough jab at 3 months. Mercifully, he recovered completely and is fine now. I was advised not to give any of my other 4 children the whooping cough either. Yet at the same time as recommending this the medical establishment continued to deny that it was linked to the jab! The experience put me on my guard against possible vaccine dangers (and the integrity of the medical establishment on htis issue!) and I flatly refused to let any of my children be given the MMR. My feeling was that these diseases are rarely serious and I would feel much safer taking my chances with the disease than the vaccine. How glad I am that I did now that all this has come to light. As a child I never heard of a single child who died of measles or mumps, though many children suffered the diseases. I am sure there were some but the figures were vastly inflated to influence us all to give our children this jab. Personal experience does count- trends are inevitably experienced to some degree in each persons life. So, if people knew of very few autistic children years ago and now know dozens (which I would confirm in my experience) then it probably means there are many more of them. In a recent outbreak of mumps my children aged 20, 19 and 17 were frequenting with people of the same ages on a daily basis who contracted the disease. They were without a shadow of a doubt exposed to significant doses of the diseases. The kids who developped the disease had ALL been vaccinated- most of them twice! Does it even work? Apparently not. Whereas my children, totally unvaccinated, did not get it at all. Whatever the truth is regarding all these things it is clear the government are not comitted to communicating it to the public. On the contrary, fully intend to suppress the truth and go to some lengths to do so. The children and families lives who are utterly destroyed must give way to the ideology of vaccines, however empty it turns out to be. The fact that the overreaction towards Dr Wakefield has been so extreme and so ferocious says a great deal, I think, and in later analysis will be seen for the hysteria that it is and will eventually be trounced as a complete falsehood. My son, Toby, luckily does not have autism, however, follwoing his early years immunisations he had a febrile convuslsion and since then has struggled to control his temperature. He also developed urge incontinence and daily stomach cramps. We have removed wheat and dairy from his diet which seems to help. I recently caved in and tried to update his injections but he suffered another crisis and we have now been referred to the local hospital. My oldest son was fine after his MMR, but then I always knew his immune system was much stronger from the day he was born. Some children can cope with the vaccines, but there are lots who can't and parents who have concerns should be listened to, otherwise the doctors are playing Russian Roulette with our children's health.

So keen was I to send support that I failed to read this properly. My children Ellie and William Whitting do not have Autism but nor have they been vaccinated with the MMR. I work as a cranial Osteopath with children and I have empirical knowledge which would not have seen me follow the vaccine program with my own children for all the money in the world. My grandson Chad was born deaf.He was developing extraordinarily well. he began signing(sign language) at 4 months old.By 18 months old he had about 200 signs that he knew and used. The MMR jab ruined our son. Before the shot, he never had a tummy ache, tolerated food fine, and was happy. Directly following the jab he couldn't move his bowels for 7 days, despite his desperate attempts too, and he was in extreme pain. He lost eye contact and stopped smileing. He had a stool every 3-7 days that was watery and contained undigested food from days prior, and he was in extreme pain, and still is. No one will listen, and no one cares that our children are suffering. Please don't stop one of the few men who does listen, and does care.

FALSE : The vaccine caused 42,000 deaths in England and Wales alone in 1871/2 alone, hundreds of thousands of deaths around the world and delayed the demise of smallpox in the UK by at least 50 years. Isolation, sanitation, social and cyclic factors were responsible for the decline of smallpox. The smallpox vaccine disaster should have seen the permanent banning of all future vaccination but was used as the basis for a multi-billion dollar fraud. 2. Germs cause disease. FALSE : germs are the product of disease. If they were the cause everyone exposed to them would become ill. Even the old fraud and plagiarist, Louis Pasteur recanted on his death-bed - The microbe is nothing : the soil/host is all but it was too late. The bug-hunters, with their Germ Theory, were up and running towards a trillion dollar empire of vaccines, antibiotics, antiseptics, antibacterials and disinfectants ; with catastrophic consequences to human health and immunity. 3. Measles, mumps, whooping cough, rubella etc are dangerous diseases. FALSE : no-one in reasonable health with properly managed treatment could be harmed by these diseases. They enhance the immune system and clear hereditary and acquired disease tendencies. This has now been lost for the overwhelming majority of children and replaced with a vaccine-induced plague. 4. Vaccines were responsible for the declining death-rates of infectious diseases. FALSE : the relevant graphs show no benefit from vaccination. 5. Vaccines are safe. FALSE : All vaccinated children are vaccine-damaged. It would not be possible to inject, directly below the skin, animal viruses and proteins, formaldehyde, carbolic acid, antibiotics, mercury, gelatin, aluminium - without causing damage. It is merely a question of time, location and degree. A huge and ever-growing list of vaccine-induced disease includes a world-wide epidemic of immune and auto-immune disease conditions, encephalitis, autism, asthma, epilepsy, MS, ME, diabetes, meningitis, cot-death, learning and behavioural problems, social violence, criminality... The latest morbidity statistics from general practice showed an average 85% increase in serious illness in children in ten years. According to the Office for National Statistics - Living in Britain survey 2004 - one in six children under five now suffer from a long-standing illness, compared with one in twenty-five in 1972 : chronic conditions have increased among five to 15-year-olds, from one in twelve 30 years ago to one in five in 2002 : a quarter of people aged 16 to 44 now suffer from a long-term illness : conditions include cancer, diabetes, arthritis, allergies, breathing problems including asthma, digestive disorders, mental illness, heart disease etc etc etc. 6. Vaccines immunise. FALSE : raising antibody levels is not immunisation : this is a whole body process, which is dependent on health cultivation ; not one which starts in the blood through subcutaneous injection. There is no scientifically-valid evidence that any vaccine is effective or safe : the only large-scale controlled vaccine trial, on the BCG jab, resulted in more tuberculosis in the vaccinated group than in the controls. We are so glad that our family have agreed not to give our grandchildren the MMR.As a nation we have got to question the sitability of any medical treatment. For so long now many doctors are playing god with their patients lives and we have always assumed they have been right because we knew no better. But with wide spread access to websites, we have more information to be able make informed decisions. As a nation we also so far behind the rest of the medical world in avialable research and treatments. My husband had Chemical Contamination. The only reason he has had some quality of life when a high number of his firemen colleages are either dead or have cancer related illness is because we found the best possible doctor to treat him. Now this doctor also finds himself under investigation with the GMC following a complaint from a Cartel of Doctors who feel threatened by his good sound advice and protocols. Dr Wakefield is not alone, what he needs to do,is not fight in isolation. Open up the arena to encourage the number of advance doctors in different fields that are also being persecuted via the Old Boys Network of the GMC because they feel threatened by the fact that doctors like you are right, to join your fight.I know it is hard as many of the doctors at the GMC have financial backing from government and pharmacutical companies so they alway have the high ground.But you are so desperately right in your opinions, and we desperately need you and the other similarly informed doctors practising advanced medicine in other fields (currently under ridicled from campaigns backed by the GMC because they dared to tell the truth), to fight on. You are being scapegoated for political reasons. The evidence of vaccine damage has been known for a long time in homeopathic circles and it is good to have an orthodox medicine doctor speak out. I have a question about the statements made by Dr. Halvorsen in relation to Rubella. He states the young girls used to receive the Rubella vaccine before the introduction of the MMR and that this led to a reduction in fetal damage from 100 in 100,000 to 30 in 100,000. If the vaccine given in childhood, any immunity would have worn off when many women would be ready to have children (i.e. 20+). So are the women who have been vaccinated still at risk. This is confirmed by that (at least according to the CDC) the group contracting rubella went from persons 14 years of age (1oo in 100,000) and under to 15 to 29 years of age (30 in 100,000). Therefore the group most at risk, women of child bearing age is more at risk because of the vaccine!
