One Flower, One Child
The GMC Rally
One Flower, One Child

On July 16th the General Medical Council (GMC) began a disciplinary hearing into allegations relating to the research and clinical activities of Dr Andrew Wakefield, Professor John Walker-Smith and Professor Simon Murch.

As these courageous doctors stood up for the groundbreaking work they have done for our children, the autism community gathered to give a unified voice to the hundreds of thousands of children who are rarely heard.

CRYSHAME encouraged you to show your support at this critical time.Flowers and messages

On day one of the GMC hearing, Cryshame used carnations - One Flower One Child - to represent children worldwide who have been affected by the catastrophic rise in autism spectrum disorders.

Supporters were invited to nominate a child and write a short message. The children's names and messages were displayed outside the GMC building on day one of the hearing. The flowers were laid nearby, creating a sea of flowers representing the urgency of the autism epidemic.

Those nominating a child to be represented were asked to give a donation of whatever they could afford. CryShame is grateful for the support shown and for the many donations received.
